The ball has fallen, my domain name has been renewed, and it’s officially a new year.
I’m pretty pleased with how my writing life went in 2019. I went to two conferences, got three pieces accepted and saw some movement on my verse novel. I also got 72 rejections (shown below in paper chain form) which beats my goal of 50 by a long shot.

Here are my writing goals for next year, in no particular order:
- Write 6 short stories
- Take the next step for Sternendach, whatever that may be
- Get my next novel into shape to be submitted/queried
- Go to ReaderCon in July
- Get 75 rejections or more
- Get 75 people signed up for my mailing list
If you are feeling generous and want to help me with that last one, please do go ahead and don’t forget to check your spam folder. Sometimes my newsletters get caught in the filter.
This has nothing to do with writing, at least not for the foreseeable future, but I also set myself the goal of finishing the Hungarian course at Duolingo. Any native speakers out there possessed of infinite patience and looking for a pen pal? Drop me a line.
Happy New Year, everyone!
