If Lady Sei Shonagon can make lists a feature of her Pillow Book, then I can do the same with my blog. And since Autumn will be upon us soon, but not so soon that I can’t enjoy the expectation, I have decided to make a list of what I’m most looking forward to. I’ll add more as I think of stuff.

In no particular order:
- Cooler temperatures
- Turning leaves
- Spice-scented candles (Rejuvenation here is my favorite.)
- Baking with carrots, apples, and pumpkin
- Squash and spinach risotto my kids hate
- Squash, bean, and chestnut casserole my kids hate
- White bean and roasted garlic soup my kids tolerate
- Halloween and Thanksgiving, my favorite holidays
(Plus that nytimes T-day cooking video I watch every year) - Drinking tea every day
- Wearing sweaters and yoga pants every day
- The crispness of mornings
- Bat-themed stuff coming out and then being discounted
- Kids back in school
- Sending postcards and cards for Halloween, planning for Christmas
- Advent (any excuse to buy candles)
- Reading spooky books and stories, and maybe watching a movie or two
